FCWP 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Fighting Cancer With Poetry is turning TWO! Time files when you’re growing, inspiring, impacting, and having FUN! This is a celebration of life, faith, strength, and courage. The Truth About Cancer program is about speaking life and encouraging our communities to be aware and to keep the faith! One of our partners, Busboys and Poets, are strong supporters of Fighting Cancer With Poetry, will be assisting us in hosting this event. The Truth About Cancer will include several dope poets, singers, and educators. HOSTESS Rebecca Dupas POETS Orville The Poet Flowetry-Man Malachi Byrd Jaja Kobina Pages Matam Ashley Hodges Megan Rickman Xavier The Poet More Coming Soon!

On October 25, 2015, Fighting Cancer With Poetry will be celebrating 2 years of informing, impacting and inspiring the world to fight cancer with creativity. Last year, FCWP challenged poets, artists, and business owners to join the movement. Many accepted the challenged and celebrated the organization’s one-year anniversary by raising $2,000. This year we want to do everything in twos, therefore our goal this year is to raise $4,000! In addition to reaching our goal, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, Inc. The Truth 2 Power Weekend is more than just a celebration or a fundraiser for the organization, but it’s to celebrate survivors and remember those who have fought and succumb to the fight.

Cancer affects so many people in our community and one of our Brand Ambassadors, Orville the Poet, wrote a Haiku that said, “They say cancer’s bad, But I’ve seen it do some good, My fam is close now.” With that said, we hope you seriously consider this request in helping us build awareness for ALL cancers and supporting this powerful weekend.
